Study Abroad: Mixed Media Printmaking in Chacala, Mexico with Miguel Perez and Larry Calkins 
February 5, 2023 - February 11, 2023

Join us for a week long mixed media printmaking intensive in Chacala, Mexico (one hour north of Puerto Vallarta) where the jungle meets the ocean. Work for 5 days with Maestro Miguel Perez at his studio Grafica Chacala and our own Larry Calkins to create works that combine sketching, printmaking and journaling. Be inspired by the petroglyphs at Alta Vista. Swim in the warm waters of the Pacific. Tuition includes lodging for seven nights (Saturday to Saturday) giving students a day to explore Chacala before the workshop begins. Prerequisite: None

Study Abroad: Collograph and Monotype Printmaking in Chacala, Mexico with Miguel Perez and Romson Regarde Bustillo 
February 12, 2023 - February 15, 2023

Join us for a this 3 day mixed collograph intensive in Chacala, Mexico (1.5 hours north of Puerto Vallarta), where the jungle meets the ocean.  Work alongside Maestro Miguel Perez at his studio Grafica Chacala and our own interdisciplinary artist Romson Regarde Bustillo  for 3 days to create works that combine collograph and monotype techniques.  Be inspired by the lush tropical surroundings. Swim in the warm waters of the Pacific. 

Tuition includes lodging for four nights (Sunday to Thursday) giving students a day to explore Chacala before the workshop begins.  Prerequisite: Some printmaking experience.

Study Abroad: Low Toxic Etching in Oaxaca, Mexico with Daniel Flores
February 19, 2023 - February 25, 2023

Join Kamla Kakaria and Romson Regarde Bustillo at Producción Gráfica Zanate studio run by Daniel Flores in Jalatlaco, a colonial neighborhood and one of the most traditional barrios of Oaxaca. In this workshop we will use alternative techniques to create surfaces to etch using tusche, aerosol, craquelure and Judea bitumen bag. The plates are etched with salts (not acid) that create unusual and beautiful results. You will each have 2 plates to work with; one traditionally for the foreground and one for the background. Daniel and his team will assist every step of the way. In the evenings, we will visit some of the many printmaking studios in Oaxaca as well as eat some of the most amazing food anywhere. Prerequisite: Some printmaking experience not limited to Etching
