While I have a survey understanding about the mechanics of natural systems, I remain captivated by the magic of it all. I find animal remnants and geological treasures particularly fascinating and good materials for storytelling.
I also have great fondness for found hardware, cast-off lumber, metal, animal and plant fibers and wax. I find that these items possess dual intrinsic properties that tell stories about such things as loss, inconsistency, error, protection and concealment. When I create with these materials, their natural properties + the process of amalgamation help me reach a depth into concepts of transformation, time, memory, purpose, place and my own mortality. The results most often come together in mixed-media, site-specific installations.
