Laura Yeats's Personal Page
Laura’s foray into design and making began at Pratt in 1998 with classes in forging, welding and woodworking and a 2-year stint as a Sculpture Studio Tech. She formed her Sole Proprietorship Yeats Design in 2000 for custom furniture work while she continued to learn and develop her craft. She attended immersion-type classes at destination art and craft schools including College of the Redwoods, Penland, Haystack and Arrowmont. She is a full time wood artist working primarily with fallen trees to make lasting, handcrafted furniture, bowls and sculptural vessels.
In 2008 she began teaching others by offering woodturning workshops in her private studio, now located on Orcas Island. She returns to Pratt in the Wood Studio with offerings in bowl making and furniture design.
