At age two Kiki moved from the east coast to Taiwan with her family. She lived there until 15 when she moved back to the states. On her next journey she was off to Japan where she studied at Sophia University in Tokyo and later apprenticed to master potter Nakazato Taroemon in Karatsu, Japan. Kiki has a BFA in Art History from Beloit College WI, and an MFA in Painting from Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles. In 2004 she began studying Chinese calligraphy, a major influence in her current work with ink.

Living in Seattle since 1993, Kiki is a member of the SOIL Artist run gallery and teaches classes at Pratt Fine Arts Center. In addition to her active artist life Kiki is also a beekeeper with three beehives.
