Sharrey Dore’
Jewelry/Metals
I began my career as studio jewelry in early 2000. Since that time, I have maintained a studio and home in Seattle, WA where I live with my husband. My jewelry, which has been described as architectural and contemporary, is constructed in 22K and 18K gold and sterling silver using traditional jewelry making techniques.
I strive to achieve form and balance within each piece. I see my jewelry as wearable art; I also believe that my jewelry is capable of standing alone as a work unto itself. I see my pieces as sculpture, all of the elements in a form of metal, accented with gemstones and semiprecious gems. Texture is integral to my work, and is achieved through a variety of methods, including fusing, stamping, hammering, granulation, sanding, etc. Texture often serves to connect the various elements in a piece, achieving harmony and balance to the piece. I have been invited to many of the top art festivals on the west coast and represented in several nationally know galleries.
