Julia Lowther

Julia was raised in Monteverde, Costa Rica, and has been teaching jewelry making nationally and internationally since the turn of the millennium. An active member of the vibrant Pacific Northwest metals community, Julia took her first metals class at the Pratt from Virginia Causey in 1997 shortly after moving to Seattle. Since then she has studied and worked with many internationally recognized jewelry artists, including Mary Hu, Komelia Okim, Doug Harling, and Megan Corwin. Julia is particularly delighted to have closed the circle and returned to teach at Pratt, her metals alma mater. Her work has been published most recently in the books 500 Gemstone Jewels; Chain Mail Jewelry; Wrap, Stitch, Fold & Rivet; and Art Jewelry Today 4. She lives and works in Seattle, WA.
